This book is adorable and clever-- one of those with some humor that adults will appreciate more than students. I was a bit surprised that the issue of some of the animals invited to the pod might be tempted to eat each other.... The edition I read seemed to have a second book, or part of a book about a book; it was not nearly as colorful or interesting as the beginning.

This is a cute comic that will appeal to beginner readers. Though it lacks the sassy sense of humour of Mo Willems the adorable characters will no doubt develop if this becomes a longer series. I particularly liked the story Narwhal's Pod of Awesomeness as the way that Jellyfish's 'eyebrows' expressed his feelings was hilarious. I thought that the various reactions of the other sea creatures in this story were well written and funny too. My young readers in the UK already have a strong obsession with marine life thanks to the Octonauts books and BBC series so I can imagine them loving this comic.

Decided to try these with my daughter! They are fun fast and the illustrations are so fun !!! We borrowed these books from the library and she seemed to enjoy them !! I haven't read books for myself in a while but this counts
What a cute little comic about friendship! When Narwhal and Jelly meet, they each think the other is imaginary, but that doesn't stop them from being friends! Once they become friends, they go on a few adventures, including eating waffles (yum!), forming a pod to have awesome parties, and coming up with an epic waffle vs. robot fight.
No doubt kids will enjoy this book that was actually written for them, but adults can totally enjoy it, too!
