idek what to say omfg, im cant even be objective with these books anymore i dont think ive ever heen so emotionally attached and impacted by a book series like actually. I just go through these books like its rain falling on me, i cant think of a single line where i was pulled out of thw story in some way, it brings you unto the world and its just perfect all the way. I feel like with thw first book i had to get used to the new way of narration and the new way to layer the plot (in contrast to liveship) i also feel like my love for the characters does truly blond me to some mistakes this moght have had.

I love where the story is going, im so glad Hobb decided to pursue the Old Blood story line further and actually make it somehow realistic in the sense that its not easy at ALL but posible. I also like how we see fitz slowly adapt again to lofe in the keep and its so interesring to see his connection with nettle. I think that was done splendidly actually, bc at first when nettle was brought as a character i (in fitzs pov and narrative) saw this as extreamly outrageous and wanted her as far away from fitz for her own safety, and o again had these reservations at thw start of tawny man. But slowly so slowly, with their joined dreams and getting to know her as an individual and not only "his baby daughter" im actually excited to see her become an active character.

Character wise i have not much more to say, the quarrel destroyed me internally and i had to take a month off from the book after it, i was DEVASTATED, the fool is one of my favorite characters and i cant BARE the tought of them coming to any harm. Also im fucking scared. So fucking scared for the next book and what it will mean for the fool. I feel like we're coming closer to fully understand all about the white lady and her plan, and im scared what that will mean for fool. Actually just insane how devoted i am thi this series like i will cru at every fucking turn and i dont think i can keep thinking about it.

Lastly, this is very clearly a preparation book or transition book, there isnt MUCH happening in regards to the main plot, but at the same time the stuff thats happenings seems just as important. The main goal of this book i think, is setting eveeything in its place so that the conclusion can happen, ao that everything can start from where it needs to be, story AND character wise. This obviously makes for a very long book of just planning which for some reason didnt bother me at all, it was engaging, active and emotional even tho the main plot is going forward very slowly.

One last thing: i fucking hate chade, ive come to realize ive never really likes him but this book hes just been infuriating. like i truly think he cared for fitz but somehow i think he cared even more for himself and his grudge and ambition is clouding his judgment.

- “you know more of the whole of me than any other person who breathes, yet you persist in insisting that all of that cannot be me. what would you have me cut off and leave behind? and why must i truncate myself in order to please you? i would never ask that of you. and by those words, admit another truth. you know what i feel for you. you have known it for years. let us not, you and i, alone here, pretend that you don't. you know i love you. i always have. i always will.”

- “and that too is a thing that we both have known for years. a thing that never needed speaking, those words that i must now carry with me for the rest of my life. we could have gone all our lives and never had this conversation. now you have doomed us both to recall it forever."

- "you said once that i might call you 'beloved, if i no longer wished to call you fool. beloved, i have missed your company."

What's awesome - the character work, the way Fitz's past influences his decisions and feelings in the present, and the way he is learning. The growing building of the world, around the Skill and Wit, the different societies, history, dragons, the Fool. The political intrigue, mysteries and secrets, and Fitz's involvement in them. The conversations and inner thoughts, and developing new relationships. The prose.

What I dropped half a star for - The period of time in the first half where I felt like we were back in the Farseer trilogy (a trilogy I personally struggled with, due to Fitz's lack of agency), though it soon turned into something very different. And the lack of communication between Fitz and

during the second half - this I found really frustrating.
