The plot never really leaves buckkeep or the castle but Hobb is a master of managing relationships and politics in a way that leaves you in awe, as well as cringing sometimes. The book does suffer a little for most of this being relation driven, but only in the sense that the blurb description is such a small part of the plot it’s almost unneeded.
