A good continuation in the Daughters of Eville series. Like the first book, this is a very loose fairy-tale retelling. In this book, readers get a new and unique take on the Cinderella story.

There is plenty of action and intrigue. And there is even a pretty good twist in this book. However, I didn't love the main character in this one. There were some inconsistencies with her personality, and overall she felt kind of weak and petty/superficial/entitled. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only character that felt flat. Many of the characters in this one felt rather stereotypical.

In the end, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first, but it was still an entertaining read.

This series has been really entertaining with its twists and turns and retellings. This book was just fun, with its love triangle, murder mysteries, and secrets. I would say this book and the series is a great pallet cleanser if you just need a fun easy read. This book is giving ' not everything is what it seems', it's giving murder mystery, it's giving tall dark and handsome.

A unique and refreshing fairy tale retelling with an actual plot line... loved the mix of two classic princesses in one retelling.

mmmmh no.

I went into this with an open mind bc I liked the previous book ([b:Of Beast and Beauty|45169121|Of Beast and Beauty (Daughters of Eville #1)|Chanda Hahn|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1555613694l/45169121._SY75_.jpg|69872366]) and I love retellings, but I didn't like this. I was gonna rate it one star, but the second star is because there were plot twists that I hadn't predicted near the end. But oh my God, the amount of restraint it took not to dnf
