Such a quick read. Sweet and yet still spicy.

Love the banter but wished it was a bit longer. Unique plot.

Thank you Dani for an ARC of the second novella of your Movie Magic series bc it was indeed magic!

This was so cute! The story is told from Harrison's POV which was different (for me) since we typically get the woman's perceptive when the couple is man and woman. I really enjoyed this change of pace! Harrison doesn't believe in romance but now he has to write the script for a rom-com. Cue the the sunshine to our grump. I loved Hayley! I loved how she never wavered in her love for romance even as Harrison tried to "enlighten" her on its flaws. And after we learn more about Harrison's history, it's understandable why he's reluctant to buy into the promises of romance. But that's why Hayley is the perfect one to change his mind bc her abundance of optimism and hope
shows Harrison that there is more to romance and that happily ever after is possible.

And as much as I loved watching Harrison and Haley's journey (bc I did!), I loved seeing all the tropes that got thrown at Harrison. The city of Chance was working *hard* to convert our nonbeliever. I think my favorite might have been all the meet-cutes bc it was so funny to see Harrison, rejecter of all romance, wonder if someone was conspiring against him by arranging all these fake meet-cutes to prove him wrong. This is in the synopsis so it's not a spoiler! 🙂

CN: open-door romance, catfishing and fraud (secondary character), mentions of past bullying

This little novella was a beauty. I dont know if the author does little settings of the scene in all of their works but I absolutely enjoyed it in this novella and felt that it matched perfectly for the plot but also for context as a reader. The plot was light and enjoyable, a perfect read for any season on the year. I truly loved this romance and I would definitely read more by this author.

This was a great second chance, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity romance novella. I have been absolutely loving this series! The stories are full of heart, have the perfect amount of steam and deliver the most feel-good happily ever afters that defy the usual romance stereotypes. Much thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Absolutely LOVED this novella. The chemistry, the second chance, the slow burn, the unexplained magic, the cheesiness. I just love it all and adore this series.

I liked how there were pieces of the book that was like a script. That got my theater brain going. Harrison was very cynical and I loved that; however, he felt a little pretentious at times. Hayley and Harrison had good banter that kept me interested. The spicy scenes were enjoyable. This was a very quick read with a little over 100 pages and I do recommend it. The writing style felt fresh and unique. The prose, the diction of it all was lovely.

Fav quote: Loving Hayley felt inevitable. Like a purpose. Not to be wasted or treated lightly. But worked toward, reclaimed through action every day.
