"The whole story seems a bit of a stretch, to be honest..."

Great cover, intriguing premise, but I wasn't hooked.

Really? This was an entertaining book, a heavy topic but not a heavy read and then an abrupt ending. Slightly disappointed overall.

Interesting idea. I liked the different POVs.
The modern character was meh. Lovely audiobook production.

BTW - I often wonder: why do authors fail to describe any facial expression for their characters besides frowning.

A 5 star read bogged down by a super weak ending. Ugh.

I LOVED this book. One of my favorites. It contains so much of my life that’s left out of many stories - menstruation, complicated feelings about motherhood, fear of men and love of men, subjugation of one’s own desires for the sake of family and the darkness that engenders… I want to read and reread it. It does feel like YA, in that it feels kind of simple and linear, but I found that restful.
