Incredibly fucked up. I’ll be thinking about this book for a while and wishing to hear more about this apocalypse and it’s dark gods.
I couldn’t get into how chaotic this was. It bites off (pun intended) way more than it can chew. Government surveillance, religious iconography, zombies, reproductive rights, public health. And the gore felt out of place in the book. I was exhausted. Did not finish

I don’t know how to review this. I enjoyed it and it was not what I was expecting. This was a hardcore horror books. LOTS of body horror. Was def grossed out at times. Still enjoyed it.
I loved this book I just wanted more! So much left to explore and know and understand about this delightful eldritch apocalypse.

This book is a wild ride from start to finish. It covers three separate but intertwined stories during the apocalypse.
The author loves the phrase “rat brain” and uses it often. I feel there are some clever phrases and definitely some reflection of reality scattered throughout. Some of the graphic things felt included for shock value rather than moving the story forward.
The ending, or lack there of, is a disappointment for me.

This book was a sick, disgusting, disturbing Cronenberg/ Lovecraftian nightmare. I loved every minute of it!!
