Wow! This book has everything: empathic characters, pandemic, apocalypse, feminism, body horror, sapphic spice, interlocking stories between the sections, cosmic horror. I wanted to re-read it immediately after finishing it to go back and see what more I could take from this piece of art

DID NOT FINISH: 60%
I felt like the book couldn't keep track of what the pandemic was and whether there was a treatment/cure/vaccine. 

Betty's brain surgery was so sudden and with barely any explanation before or after.


Words like "pandemic dabbing" and the very on the nose "you killed the only black woman you knew" just made me cringe.

would have been a 4 star but like why is a bisexual character called soft butch and why the subtle lesbophobia… like so off putting? “lesbians are too mean to sleep with bi girls!!” like shut up…. it’s sad because i think the book is really good but like it made me feel so …. like i can’t even read a queer book in peace without that
