This was interesting. I thought the mystery was easily solvable but I don't think it's meant to be the main focus of the story.

The story follows two 17-year-old girls; one in a bad relationship that's resembling a marriage of convenience, the other a closeted in a cult -not 100% clear on the cult thing.

My problem with this book was the entire existence of Amanda. I mean I'm not certain of it, but I don't think 17-year-olds go to such lengths to keep their forced bland boyfriend. What sort of teen calls herself Mrs Boyfriend's Last Name? That's not a thing, Amanda.

Hmm, just not for me. The reveal at the end was somewhere between predictable and a bit of a reach. I really appreciated the fundamentalist church and conversion therapy storyline, but everything else fell flat for me. 2.5 stars.

I liked this! it was fun to live in a PLL-adjacent universe for a few days. there were a kind of absurd number of typos in this book and I didn't love that but this was a "fun romp," which is exactly what my book club was hoping for!

This was fucking fantastic. Very very Pretty Little Liars, with a couple of twists that were mind-blowing. Went beyond the normal psych thriller with two characters who were very complex and well-developed, particularly Rosalie- my heart absolutely went out to her, and her ending made me sob my heart out. Liked that the ending was finished, but also open. Wish I could read this all over again! Massive massive CNs for religious cults, religious homophobia, conversion therapy.
