Listened to this as an audiobook. Really entertaining. Ingrid is a hoot. Very clever writing. Overall it was a bit too pensive, condition X was a clever trope but I'd say the stories / wit around the story were the best bit.

Oh my god. I forgot how fast I could read when I really enjoy a book. This book made me cry so many tears. I love Martha so much, I feel so connected with her. What I love most about this book is that mental illness is not romanticised, it was very realistic. It showed very well how it not only impacts Martha’s life, but also those who are close to her. I resonated with every word in this book.

I cried for Martha and Patrick a lot. I also loved how we saw a lot of her relationship between her sister and her parents. The troubles of motherhood and wanting a child, but not sure if you can because of your mental illness. This book is everything and I might cry some more about it the next days, I need to process everything. Meg Manson, I love you. The writing style of this book immediately sucked me in. 5 stars, no doubt!!!

I really, really wanted to love this book, but unfortunately, it just didn't click with me. The whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way, and I found Martha's character to be pretty unbearable (which had nothing to do with her diagnosis).

On a side note, while a few reviews mentioned Fleabag, I see a lot more in common with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, to the point that it sometimes seems like there are direct quotes. "A Diagnosis", minus a couple of lines, could basically be the synopsis of the book.

Hilarious, heartfelt, at times harrowing but ultimately hopeful. Wasn’t what I expected, but ended up being what I needed to read—a humorous but realistic exploration of the messiness of life, mental illness, being human and being in relationships.
