I wish more book had leading men who are thoughtful, respectful and committed. No games, no cheating, no disrespect, no emotional manipulation. Thank you Nicole Deese for writing this sweet romance.

As a huge fan of Hallmark Channel's Christmas movies, to say I was absolutely delighted to know the heroine of this story was a screenwriter of theirs would be putting it mildly! All the little callbacks to those movies just made me grin every time. And the characters? Georgia is awesome! She's been hurt by Weston though, so their relationship moves slowly. But he's determined not to be ignored and I loved how he pursued a friendship first before a romantic relationship. He's got as much on his plate as Georgia, and they both have to work at communicating and opening up their hearts. Watching them find their way is oh so wonderful though, and while the story is based during Christmas, it's one to be enjoyed any time of the year!

Oh so cliché! The writer wasn't lying when she titled this novel. I found myself in laughter at some points in this novel because the book was almost making fun of itself. Great for a light read. But those of you who don't like Hallmark movies, might want to stay away. It's fun and cheesy with a sweet message but not super complex or unique. However, I'm glad I read it. I rediscovered it recently after having had it in my TBR a long time ago and it was great mindless entertainment.

Wow! Just wow!

A successful but burnout Hollywood Christmas screenplay writer returns to her small hometown and runs into her childhood rival-turned-friend-turned-enemy (of sorts). Together, they put on a Christmas production fundraiser to raise money for a little girl’s cancer treatment.

I was expecting a story full of holiday charm & the sweetness of a Hallmark story, and it delivered in every way. BUT IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT! The messages & themes packed a deep punch—enough to make me cry. Second chances, forgiveness, loneliness, faith over fear, and the truest meaning of unconditional love.

The banter and chemistry is electric, and you can’t help loving the characters! Plus, Weston’s use of Christmas nicknames for Georgia is hilarious!

It’s a heartwarming & moving holiday story I know I’ll be rereading again & again!

I'm not usually big on cliche but man this was a good book! Weston was perfect. Of course. It had such a good feeling about it. Loved it.

Georgia is the "Holiday Goddess" - how I would hate that nickname. But she has earned it by writing Christmas screenplays. She seems like a cute little thing - but I also pictured Martha Stewart a few times (I'm not sure why). Weston is far to good to be real and his niece is just beyond adorable. There were a lot of good things going on here, but none of them seemed to stick with me for very long. They just weren't characters I could attach myself to and want to follow around.

I think this book really hit the mark it was aiming at. There were a lot of cliches in here. From the characters, to the extremely ill child, to the high school rival and sweetheart meeting again. Every page seemed to have a new one. But somehow it worked - mostly. There were a few times that it got to be a bit much, but overall it was an enjoyable story if not a memorable one.

Completely endearing story. This will definitely be a book I reread each year. I love the tight-knit community and dysfunctional family relationships.

~ AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ~
I loved this Christmas novella! It took me on a journey with Georgia as she works through hurts and insecurities that were planted deep from childhood. I really appreciated the balance of depth mixed with a cozy Christmas feel.

Content: Christian themes (but no scripture or prayers), Lots of kissing, Some sensual comments.

Audio Performance: 8/10
Amy Rubinate brought the characters and story to life. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy her reading style but it didn’t take me long to get swept up in the story and forget my first impressions.
Length: 5 hours (unabridged)
