I loved the first two of these, but this one actually ended with a cliffhanger, which didn't seem to make sense to me. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of Lia's life after everything but, unless this is a teaser of a potential fourth book, I was surprised and, to be honest, a tiny bit annoyed that it would end so abruptly. It left me dissatisfied and pretty much wishing I hadn't read it. I love Michelle's writing and her stories, I just don't want a finished series to be left hanging so much as this novella leaves it.

My rating: 1/6
My reaction after finishing the story:
SPOILERS WARNING!
The idea of showing Lia's life after the events of the last book was interesting but everything else left me completely baffled.
First of all, I can't understand the enormous cliffhanger. I didn't fully agree with how things ended in Circle of Fire but we got a conclusion and this novella crashed everything and didn’t make sense. It also meant that the final showdown and Alice’s sacrifice was completely in vain.
As much as I liked the first two short stories, I didn’t like this one at all and it left me angry and wishing I’d never picked it up.
