I really wanted to like this more as I heard so many great things.
The premise is brilliant and original and this started out fantastically for me - I raced through the initial part and Simon’s story. Unfortunately for me then it started to slow and I think given the premise so much more could have been done with each character’s story. Also the end part of Daniel’s story didn’t seem at all believable.

A very well-written look at four siblings who go see an old woman who reveals the date of their death to each and how each sibling deals with this knowledge throughout their life. A very good, existential tale about length of life, how you live your life, your experiences and connections with other humans, different takes on loving others, not just romantically, and people's inner thoughts. I highly recommend this.

Beautiful story line, but Benjamin is a bit of a long-winded writer, in my opinion. Had to stop and start reading multiple times but after finishing, I was glad that I did. Definitely pick this up if you are a patient reader but if not, probably won’t be for you.

I really did not enjoy this book. I thought the "lessons" were so heavy handed and the characters were one note. I wouldn't have made it through if it wasn't for book club. I wanted to like this book, I thought the premise was interesting but overall it was disappointing.
