This was such a fun read!! I love when a bit of magic is sprinkled into a book and this one certainly had some with an added portion of mystery. I was so intrigued by it all and I can’t wait to read the next book. All the characters were great. I was laughing at Jax, yelling at Roman, swooning over Bear, and hoping for Archer and Cora

Okay, prefacing this review with I’m new here to the Alpha/Beta/Omega hierarchy or the Omegaverse genre in general, so I’m super glad the authors did a small explanation of their world at the beginning.

Side bar: Let’s be honest, the idea of a MMMFM pack in real life stresses me out BUT THIS BOOK…sigh…is what dreams are made of and is an ideal portrayal of the why-choose, fated mates genre.

The interactions between the characters were swoon worthy and everyone truly has a place within the pack. Jax brings chaotic energy and just might be my favorite alpha. All of the characters are endearing, the FMC is smart, and the plot is well-written and developed (slowish burn!!!) before any spicy-spice even happens. Once that spice happens though, watch out 👀🥵. Think Indiana Jones meets the Mummy kind of adventure, mixed with a why-choose/fated mates romance plot. There’s Multi POV. Adventure. Academia. Treasure. Spice. Communication. It’s perfection. Literally I’m obsessed, please write more in this Adventureverse.

Tropes, etc:
MMMFM
Boyfriends who are boyfriends
Forced proximity
Scent matches
Fated Mates
Nonshifter Omegaverse
Archeology/Academia

Content warning:
Explicit spicy content
Biting
Bonding
Breeding k!nk (no on-page pregnancy)
Somnophilia
Killing and eating snakes to survive

Who I envisioned while reading:
-Jax-the unhinged, chaotic treasure hunter alpha. It’s giving Indiana Jones energy.
-Archer- the sweet, nerdy, but lowkey is really hot beta scientist. Hear me out…the actor William Jackson Harper who plays Chidi on the Good Place. Nerdy and endearing, but then you’re like whaaaa you’re ripped?! And you’re on a Marvel movie?!
-Bear- burly, but also THE SWEETEST, former military, now security and medic alpha. I’m thinking of a young Jim Hopper.
-I pictured Roman and Cora as Rick and Evelyn from the Mummy.
-Roman- the grumpy professor alpha, has a hangup with omegas
-Cora- the smart, beautiful archeologist/professor omega

Omegaverse meets Indian Jones in this fun MMMFM read! I loved how each guy had their own trope (think rivals to lovers, fated mates, forced proximity, body guard), it really showed how everyone had their own personality and how it made the group whole. Don’t skip on this adventurous omegaverse read!

The authors’ tribute to beloved archeological adventure movies are reimagined in the context of an omegaverse and made for a fast paced romance where more than the characters’ hearts were in peril.

I loved every minute of this book, so reminiscent of Indiana Jones! The characters were unique, each bringing something to the table that the group needed to survive being trapped in Lunara’s Temple. Cora is brilliant, strong, feisty, knows her own mind, and won’t allow men to make decisions for her based on her biology. But, she also has hidden insecurities rooted in her inability to go into heat and bond with a mate. This emotional insecurity makes for a great balance with her apparent self-sufficiency.

The sense of fate/the goddess playing a major roll in bringing these five people together, in this place and at this time, is undeniable and an aspect of the story that I particularly appreciated.

Of course there’s plenty of running from life threatening danger within Lunara’s temple with snakes, scorpions, near drowning….and all the spice! This is one raucous ride you don’t want to miss!

I had the opportunity to read an advance copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

Obsessed! I really don’t think there’s another word to describe how much I loved this book!! It’s really no secret that I like Omegaverse and why choose books but you might not know I love treasure hunting books as well. There’s not many out there but if one comes up I will read it. Those are the types of show I like to watch and when I read my first treasure hunting book I knew I wanted more romance books with treasure hunting. So when I saw this book I knew I had to read it and let me tell you it did not disappoint I was hooked for the very beginning.

Cora was invited to go on a dig in search for a temple that is 4,000 years old. But there’s a reason Cora wants to go on this dig not just for the history but for something else too. (I don’t want to give it away 😂). She is set to go to Ekdoti along with another professor from the college she works at. Dr Slate is not as excited about Cora going and the first line in chapter had me giddy and ready for him to grovel on his knees for her and they didn’t even have an interaction with each other yet. And things just got better from there. Roman, Bear, Jax and Archer get trapped down in the temple with Cora and things start to heat up. We have to wait a little bit for the spice but once it starts it starts and it’s hot!  If you’ve read Omegaverse you know once the heat hits nothing is off limits. 😏

I loved the adventure in this book and all the characters and the epilogue hints at the next book and I just can’t wait for that one I need more!!

This book's dedication had me giggling right off the start. The vibes it gives is a mix of Indiana Jones and The Mummy. It's got magic in an omegaverse universe. The story centers around the characters' involvement in an archeological dig. As this is an omegaverse, of course she ends up having a strong heat while isolated from the world with the MMCs, (yes, more than one). They scent matched and that makes sparks fly everywhere. There are swords crossing, plenty of spice, and witty banter.
If you have nostalgia for the adventure movies and specifically The Mummy, and love omegaverse, this is your book. If you are just getting into this genre, this is a great and lightheaded introduction to it.

One of the authors of this book reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in reading an ARC for Welcome to Bone Town. She was so lovely and thoughtful in her inquiry and I’m so glad I said yes!
I loved this book. For so many reasons. 1) the nostalgia of The Mummy vibes. 2) I love an Omegaverse 3) it made me laugh 4) I’m also on board for a ragtag team of misfits who hates each other at first.
I loved seeing a woman in a male dominated field. I loved that Jax wasn’t ashamed of who he was - in fact, most of the time he walked around proud as a peacock. I appreciated Roman’s growth. I loved Archer, simply bc I love the nerds AND I so enjoy a beta in a pack, I think it is so leveling. And of course, lover boy Bear.
It was a fun read where the stakes never felt too high, so I was able to escape within the book. OH! and the heat?!?!?!?!??! LAWD!

Finding herself a pack is the last thing on the brilliant mind of Cora, archeologist and omega. When she gets the chance to go on the dig of a lifetime, she's determined to make it count. Even if the other lead archeologist is a grumpy alpha who despises her. After a cave in on the dig, Cora suddenly finds herself trapped in an ancient temple with said grumpy archeologist, an ex-military alpha, a sweet beta scientist and an unhinged treasure hunter....
Wowsers, this was sooooo fun and amazing and full of adventure and I can't recommend this enough!! If you like Omegaverse, hurt/comfort, diverse characters, fated mates (scent matches), Indiana Jones and The Mummy vibes, go read this book!!
