Fun fantasy novel similar to a Narnia book. I preferred this, the sequel to the first i think. The story was more straight forward from the perspective of Curdie than the first.Great book to read to kids I think. The goblin creatures were fun and having one as Curdies companion was great.

I loved this book so much as a child, and even today it remians a favorite. Be sure to read the first one, The Princess and the Goblins, before reading this one!

MacDonald can be frustrating. At times he is so profound and beautiful, and at times campy and bizarre.
