3 stars is a bit generous. The beginning was difficult to get through and I couldn't stand the characters for most of the book, but I begrudgingly enjoyed the ending. I could have done without the romance, which to me was unconvincing, but I really enjoyed the world and magic system. I might read the next one just to see more of that.
I can't tell you how much I loved this story. It was truly beautiful.
This was a perfectly pleasant fantasy book. I wouldn't say it blew me away but it was a relaxing read. I am very happy the story was completed in one book. Trilogies and sagas do get tiresome sometimes especially in the fantasy genre.

I listened to the audiobook via Audible.
I liked the first few chapters. I thought it would be such a great story. I thought the main character would grow into a strong, defiant woman and was really excited to continue. However that did not happen. The whole story, she was this meek, reliant thing and it was huge book turn off for me. I ended up forcing myself to finish the book.

Great worldbuilding and so well written. There were some issues with the story towards the end but the vibes were immaculate and the prose was stunning!
