I could easily giving this a 4 because I just love how Maggie writes, but it's so short and I needed more so there you have 3.5. I was happy to get back into this. I intend of reading the third book next week before the fourth one comes out.

2018 Spring:

Just another Raven Cycle snippet as I made sure I had caught up on everything written in this series at learning of Opal, and wanting to be prepared for the books of dreaming and Ronan coming soon. This Christmas snippet was of Gansey and some strange, mystical carolers who continue to follow him around the world, and it gives us tiny hints of the still forthcoming ends of the books while they were being written.

I found this one so lovely, and it reminded me why I so deeply loved Gansey.

This short story focusses on Gansey and provides more insights into him and his research. My personal favourite of the three short stories. A recommended read for all fans!

This canon short story can be found on Maggie’s blog: https://maggiestiefvater.com/a-minor-raven-boys-holiday-drabble/

Christmas was a dangerous time to be a broken thing; the weight of tradition and history could too easily sink a lethargic swimmer.

The story is set before book one, The Raven Boys, but contains no particular spoilers. It is a nice story set around Christmas, mainly we get to see a bit about Gansey’s life in Henrietta.

He liked that sense that magic was coming for him, instead of the other way around.

Although, there is delicious Stiefvater foreshadowing, if you know what to look for..

Spoiler
“Oh,” said Noah, standing beside Gansey.
Gansey jumped. “Jesus. I didn’t know you had come back.”
“I was always here,” Noah said.

Like I said, it’s great.

Spoiler

Gansey stood at the top of the stairs and shoved the window open. The glass was already cracked, and the window popped as the crack deepened. It held, though. The pane would probably last another year; he had time to fix it.

Another little Christmas drabble in the Raven Boys universe centered around Gansey. This was a bit longer than the last one, and I think more satisfying in a sense that you see that everything was kinda gearing up to the events of the books. I also love Stiefvater's writing, so I'm enjoying these little snippets.

Gansey was full of the knowledge that he needed to do something about Ronan Lynch before Ronan did something about Ronan Lynch.

This may have only been three pages, but it rekindled a love that had never really died anyway. Now I'm yearning for a Raven Boys reread...

I love these boys so much.

“Creepy,” Noah said.

“Regional flavor,” Gansey said.
