ok, so i enjoyed most of the dark tower series, but after getting halfway through this book, i'm done. i will not finish this book or the series. not to spoil the books, but a certain author writes himself in and then makes it seem that he is the savior of the universe b/c of his writing. way to literarily jerk yourself off.

I'd definitely say this is the weakest of the entire series but its still and interesting and enjoyable read It's also probably the strangest and most "meta" of the bunch (either this or The Gunslinger). Some strange choices were made and one, lets say *interesting*, edition to the roster of characters. Overall I'd recommend it (honestly if your this far into the series your probably not going to stop now).

Didn't do much for the overall plot and didn't feel like a self contained narrative but I'll always enjoy reading these characters

This book was a little better than the last one because it felt like the story was finally beginning to move along. I might have been inclined to give this book a better rating if I did not find it incredibly annoying and pompous that Stephen King wrote himself into this book as a character. :/
