Team Astley all the way baby!
So. In this segment, we have seriously evil pixies, Valhalla, corruption, deceit, missing teenagers, etc. Makes for an awesome mix! Especially Valhalla-one can never get enough of Norse Mythology imo.
And as a surprise, I was expecting this to be a trilogy. And guess what? IT ISN'T!!! yay!

Ok, first of all, i ADORE these covers! They're just so gorgeous and enticing... (heehee)
I really loved this books, but HATED the ending, especially since i thought it was going to bet the last one! I think its ok now.
Astley is amazing as usual, and Nick... well i still hate him.
Anyway, this was a great third novel that a lot of people will love and enjoy. Zara is getting closer to Astley, though she still loves Nick. But who is right for her? It really is hard, both are great guys...
Guess we'll have to wait for the fourth one!

Entice, the third book in the Need series picks up right where the second book (Captivate) ended. Zara is now “pixified” as she says and is attending the school dance. It won’t be long until Pixie troubles arise though. Determined to protect her town, even though she’s not human anymore, Zara will take matters in her own hands, all the while trying to find her way to Valhalla and save her werewolf boyfriend Nick.
This installment was once again full of adventure and enormous obstacles stands in the way of our heroes. My heart was broken when more friends fell in battle, pushing Zara to question her decisions. Is saving Nick the right thing to do? Will he even want to leave Valhalla? Will he accept her now that she is a pixie?
One of the prime aspect of this book was Zara’s insecurities about her new self. Is she still the same? Is she evil now? Would she hurt her friends? Not everyone accepts her easily and it definitely hurts her, but her struggles provides the perfect occasion for her to grow, and she will.
Astley is also one big question mark. Could the pixie King really be good? Yes he is helping her finding Valhalla, but can she trust him? Does he have ulterior motives? Personally, I am very fond of him and would chose him over Nick any day =)
The end was ok but I was kinda disappointed that so many questions were left unanswered. One of the big downs for me in this series is that the books are so short, it always lets you craving for more. Thankfully, a fourth book is already scheduled, so hopefully we’ll finally get answers.

I'm sad. I thought Need was so interesting and couldn't wait to get my hands on Captivate, but I'm not sure I can go on. At first I just thought she hit a little roadbump with Captivate, but Entice wasn't much better either. I don't think it's the story as much as it's the snail-like pace. There has been an all-encompassing, apocalyptic war on the horizon for all three books now; but so far it's just talk. They keep hearing about it, but nothing has happened to really prove that it's happening. Everything that does happen seems to have little relevance to what the story is actually supposed to be about or is just put in there to make you think there still might be a point.
Entice, as a whole, is just one big tangent. Jones uses the entire book to get Nick back. While I do think that it is an important event and shouldn't be rushed, I'm not sure it was wise to use the whole book for that one thing; especially with this supposed war closing in. Then there's how Zara got Nick back. It all happened a little too easily, especially for how long it took her to get there. And it made little sense to me how or why the evil king guy was there. It was a mess.
I'm also starting to hate Zara, or just starting to realize how much I hate her. She's turned into an ungrateful brat who takes advantage of her friends. Then she sacrifices people to get Nick back when she's not even sure that he wants to come back or that he'll accept her now that she's pixie. It's just too much of a job to be understanding.
I'm not sure I'm going to read the next book - or if I'm just going to finish the series out of obligation - but for now I'm taking a break.

This is one of the better books in the series. Zara is finally becoming a much stronger character and it does wonders for her. I am very interested in seeing how things progress with Astley and Nick.
