I really love the first two books and gave them five star each but this book just fell flat for me. It was OK up until about the last 20%, but I felt the ending not pulled together and was just disappointed. I would still suggest for people to read the first two books but just not bother with the third.

I am a big fan of this series. I love the twists the author made to the original classic tales (this one uses the story of Frankenstein), and the gothic, unsettling atmosphere. I'm happy to report that this book was just as solid as the previous two, and definitely kept me guessing until the very end. Juliet does take some getting used to, and can be exasperating at times, but nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and feel it was a solid ending to the series. If you're a fan of YA horror, definitely check it out!

Man these books were good. This one was just as intense, with a totally new plot which kept everything interesting. The main character was wonderfully flawed and made some stupid choices, but I loved her enough to keep rooting for her. The ending was great, no regrets or unanswered questions.

Great to give Juliet an ending. A couple of the facts about her parents seemed to come out of left field, and they didn't really have any kind of resolve. Enjoyable read!

I thought it was a satisfying ending to the trilogy. Shepherd lived up to her legacy of weaving creepy into her revisionings. I was disappointed that she
Spoiler prematurely killed off Elizabeth. She introduced this intriguing character only to kill her before she really developed into anything. I felt it was an easy way out, instead of having Juliet answer to her betrayal of bringing Edward back to life. Perhaps it would've taken the story in a direction she didn't want it to go, but I feel Elizabeth deserved a chance to confront Juliet. Speaking of which Juliet doesn't answer to any of the tragedies she caused in this book. She is the soul reason that Elizabeth dies and that the manor catches on fire, but McKenna treats both situations as no big deal. She'll rebuild the house with the magic money she had hidden away. McKenna is barely phased that Juliet brings Edward back other than the comment stating that he might be as unstable as Hensley. If she truly was with the von Stein family as long as she stated she should've been appalled at Juilet's blatant disregard for Elizabeth's rules. But the 'little mouse' doesn't even get a smack on the wrist.
You also don't get to learn about Elizabeth's oath or history which was disappointing. The ending was wrapped up neatly which is about all you can ask of a series. I just hope she doesn't follow the trend and start adding novellas.

Honestly me finishing this series after I started it in 8th grade is one of my biggest reading accomplishments lol. Honestly this book is really decent. Like creepy and weird and surprising at points. The heroine still annoying as hell and disturbing but still fun. Be proud of me everyone.

*screaming in frustration*

one more star because of the lack of a love triangle. another because it was more enjoyable than he last. lost a star because my fave died :( as well as the frustration i felt at the decisions of juliet half the time and the Big Plot Twist was just .... straight out of left field. meh.

Super dark & creepy! Sequels definitely improved from the first (not that I didn't enjoy that one!). Full review to come!
