Es una tremenda secuela que disfruté desde que arrancó hasta que terminó.
Muad'Dib en el poder hace años y una cospiración para derrocarlo es una buena premisa para arrancar esta novela. Los personajes son profundamente interesantes, Scytale es un bailacarás de lo más, Hayt se nos presenta como un Ghola y muchas dudas existenciales, y Alia es una genia, también que buena trama.
Hay una escena tremenda llegando al final que me dejó impactado, sin embargo Paul es siempre capáz de ver con su presciencia, manteniendo así su posición de poder.
A diferencia de la anterior entrega acá no vemos mucha acción o esas escenas increíbles en el desierto, pero se disfrutó mucho todo el tema filosófico de las crisis de identidad y lo invecitable del destino. Las consecuencias que cierran a la novela me dejaron vació pero aun así un excelente desarrollo del protagonista.

No esperaba que su gobierno se diera de esta manera, quizá el primer libro me ofreció demasiadas expectativas al respecto, se me hizo un tanto reflexivo y diferente a la experiencia que tuve con el primer libro.
A strange story and an ending I did not see coming. Who knows what people will think of the movie. I will give the next book a chance but part of me wants to end the story here.
Hell. Yes. Frank Herbert does it again with another Dune book.
was expecting a lot worse given the warnings but actually really enjoyed this! thought it carried over the political cunning of book one well. ending had me 😧😧
enjoyed how it took up unexpected consequences of religious indoctrination & colonization aside from the obvious ones incl the threat to wormies when planet is rehydrated! just because something is not Your Way doesn’t mean it’s not A Way! not sure how i feel about hayt & the tleilax, lil cop-out-y, a little pandering, even a little more culturally exploitative than even the rest of herbert’s world building.
this book got me thinking about the bene gesserit as specifically empowered (which might be their own disempowerment) by their capacity to reproduce (thus manipulating genetic lines yada ya), & the stakes of a coalition of women which seek political infiltration singularly derived from the womb. gender essentialist in a way that icks me out but merits more research & exploration . meanwhile reproduction precipitates the downfall of the atreides reign … big thoughts!
