Dune Messiah

A much smaller story than Dune, focused on Paul's reckoning with his legacy and what he has wrought in the universe. It has a few great scenes but doesn't match the grandeur of the first book in any way (and maybe it isn't supposed to).

I have to wonder how much of the "maybe a little incest would solve our problems?" part of the conspiracy against Paul will make it into the film adaptation.

Is it just me, or are the female characters only defined by their sex? I guess Dune 1 had similar vibes; the whole male/female sides of the brain thing. I'm not sure if I want this book to be longer or shorter.

actually I thought it was good and well written until
Duncan Idaho kissed Alia
and then I almost DNFed right then and there.

Better than expected based on lousy reviews - still enjoyed it. Lots of dead people and body parts.
Will be interesting to see Jason Momoa coming back and eyeless Timothee.
