De las mejores novelas que he leído en toda mi vida. Me encanta cómo la trama se va desenvolviendo con tanto suspenso a lo largo de cada página, además de en cada capítulo descubrimos un nuevo punto de vista y más detalles sobre la historia para poder ir construyendo los sucesos con mayor claridad. Nunca he sido muy fan del terror pero este libro me fascinó pues creo que logra jugar con el terror de la realidad y lo salvaje e inhumano de una manera que, incluso a mí que soy mega sensible, me hacía querer saber qué más pasaba. Me gusta que el libro tiene diferentes tintes, en algunas partes es más místico, en otras más tenebroso, en algunas incluso sentía que leía una novela para adolescentes...es una obra maestra sin duda. Recomiendo ampliamente comprarlo en físico para poder hacer anotaciones y porque creo que es un libro que invita a una relectura.

This sounded like such an interesting book but it was so slow and meandering. All of the main characters are awful, the only one even remotely engaging was Gaspar and it wasn't worth all the other narratives you had to slog through. The choice to not separate out chapters and smush the dialogue into the paragraphs without quotation marks did not help either. I also found the summary misleading as it seemed like the vibe was going to be a father-son journey into a horror landscape fueled by grief, it's just an asshole trying to escape a cult of other assholes while treating his son like shit. There was violence but no tension because I didn't care who lived or died. Maybe it was an issue with the translation or I'm missing some important context but I wish I had just DNF'd this, and I'm usually a fan of slow-paced lit fic horror.

An absolute beast of a book but sooo good. If you liked Monstrilio you should definitely check this out. There’s so much to unpack here. It’s definitely worth it to read up on the history of Argentina and the dirty wars, the context makes the book even better.
