Quick, fun read. Honestly, I enjoyed her writing style for the most part. Rain made me want to die every time she thought about or said she was “nothing special” like girl we get it. You think you’re unimportant even though you’re the literal embodiment of Wrath’s crown? (I think? Idk hasn’t actually been fully explained yet.) I’m 10000% superimposing an OC ship over Wrath and Rain that makes it more enjoyable for me though so there’s that, too. I also cannot get over the fact that supernaturals can smell when you’re horny. I detest that lore. Also the fact that her clit is always fucking tingling and we have to be told about it. Like you do you, write how you wanna write, but lord I cannot get over it.

I read the never King series last year and its a favorite of mine in this genre. That being said, i can’t stop myself from comparing both book/series. I really enjoy the humor and the action packed story of Nikki’s writing this is really hier pros, from my opinion. Its a short book but I still find it missing some deepness in the relationships and the world/story building. With that AWFUL cover (i hate men in bare chest for book cover) you would think there is a lot of spice, but not in this first book. I had fun reading this but im not hooked by anything in this story, it felt flat, unfortunately.

At the heart of the story is the titular demon king, a larger-than-life figure with a penchant for chaos and a devilish sense of humor. As he wreaks havoc across the land, he finds himself embroiled in a whirlwind of schemes, betrayals, and epic battles that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

But it's not just the demon king who steals the show—there's also a colorful cast of characters, each more eccentric and entertaining than the last. From the plucky heroine with a heart of gold to the dashing rogue with a secret past, every character adds their own unique flavor to the story, creating a rich tapestry of personalities that will leave you eagerly awaiting their next adventure.

A good, large cast of characters. Fast pacing.
