I enjoyed this one! The story was fun and zany but a little unsatisfying— felt like there was a lot of lore/worldbuilding we didn’t get and the “emotional” bits didn’t really hit since the story was so fast and surface level. The art is incredible, though, and I definitely had fun reading it. Will probably revisit at some point!

The craziest thing I've ever read. I loved it!

Clearly foundational sci-fi and a jumping off point for graphic novels...little depth though. The central relationship had my eyes rolling back in my head. The ideas explored were good but the dialogue itself was painful. Maybe the translation?

Absolutely worth a read for the artwork; Mœbius creates brilliant and strange worlds, and his characters look full of life and expression.

Jodorowsky's story, on the other hand, is... exceptionally weird, and a bit of a mess. His characters are unlikeable (except for Deepo); his pacing is uneven. A lot of his Dune ideas were reused here, from what I understand, and it sure looks and reads like it.

This book was a gift from a friend from a few years ago! Finally got around to reading it. It's a sci-fi/comics classic. I expected more of a space opera, but instead got a fast-moving and plot-heavy tale.

This book is filled with inventive thoughts and unique world building choices. That said, I often found myself lost in the characters' motivations and struggling to connect with them. I wish it dug more into the characters or gave them opportunities to grow.
