This could have been interesting. The fixation on the mouth was ridiculous. Seemed like the author pulled out a thesaurus to write this. Not an approachable book at all.

I'm writing this several months after reading it and since reading two or three more of Khaw's books, and I returned to drop my recommendation on a stellar read. I don't say this lightly, but Cassandra Khaw has really hit a [good] nerve with her story construction, especially in the short form. This book in particular really struck the right tone, executing on a simple idea in a way I admire. And all of these reviews are subjective, so let's add my subjective review to the pile.
