This story has very good bones and a lot of potential.

I legit don't understand why this book has such bad reviews. I loved it. It's a novella, just a short story. If you're wanting an entire movie and wind up watching an hour long anthology, sure, you are probably gonna be disappointed. It starts fast and ends fast. It legitimately creeped me out. Maybe I thought it was better because of the audiobook narrator? The way she captured the fear and emotion of each of the characters was sublime.

I almost want to give this book more stars because it's extremely weird that this solidly mid horror novella is rated so badly? It was about what you expect from the description. The writing was really beautiful, although sometimes it felt a little over-written. Honestly, from reading the reviews I'm surprised so many people don't seem to understand this book? And not in a ~it's so deep~ way, but in a basic reading comprehension way. It was largely forgettable but not awful.
never have I wished so hard for an ENTIRE cast of characters to be knocked off
Somewhat confusing and anticlimactic. The Salt Grows Heavy was definitely an improvement from this author. I'm not bothered by the prose as many seem to be though.
