DNF- I got about halfway through the book but the characters bothered me and I felt like nothing really happened. I got bored, which sucks because the premise of this book sounded so interesting.

I don't rate anything as 1 star unless I dnf it, but this really should have been a longer work, given the author's writing style. I liked the imagery of the scenes, just not the execution of the story and the character relationships were a little confusing. Not enough detail to care about any of them.

Gah, this one lingers in your brain. Haunted mansions, ghost brides, toxic friendships, Japanese folklore, and a creeping sense of dread on every single page. It’s short, eerie, and perfect for a late night horror read, preferably with some lights on.
This was just an okay horror read for me. I kind of expected more of a "slasher film" kind of vibe going into it, but really it was just kind of a jumpled bag of spooky elements. The writing is kind of hard to get past for me as well. It just seems kind of drawn out and leaves gaps in the story.
