It has been a long time since I read this one. Being older, it hit me hard in so many more ways. Harry’s grief in losing a father and brother figure, Lupin’s ability to grab on to Harry and try to steady him as he realized the last of his best friends was gone, Dumbledore’s guilt and sadness. Ugh, my heart was broken (again). I laughed, I cried so much.

This book genuinely took forever to pick up. I'd been through more than half before I really felt the momentum. Also my heart is ripped out from the loss of Sirius... 4.5

This used to be my least favorite one in the series but I really enjoyed it as an adult. I used to think Harry was sooo annoying in this one, always mad and yelling, but now honestly, I get it. First, he’s a 15 year old kid, of course he’s moody and emotional. And second, he’s been through trauma after trauma, and just watched another kid get murdered!! It makes sense why he’d be so angry and lashing out at everyone. Poor little Harry, I was heartbroken for him in this one.

Also, I just have to say this because J.K. Rowling is such a terrible human being, DOES SHE KNOW SHE’S BASICALLY TURNED INTO THE VILLAIN IN HER OWN BOOKS?!? She’s pretty much Professor Umbridge. She sucks.

Well…QQQQ.

I'm not sure at the moment how I feel about this book. I'm feeling kind of blahhhhhh. And frustrated that Harry's character never seems to grow or learn or change.

But I can't believe I finally finished this extremely long (and sometimes uninteresting) book. I need time to process to form an actaul opinion. I just can't believe I finally made it to the end.

Harry really needed some therapy this year.
