Beautiful poetry! This book is in the public domain, so I google it from time to time to read some of the poems again. I loved it.

I’ve been bewitched body and soul.

‘Love has no desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires;
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon of hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.’

I’m glad I took the time to read this classic. Gibran’s commentary on each of these topics is timeless and heartfelt. I could see myself coming back to this book over the years and getting something different out of it each time.

So, I finished this, but I definitely haven’t finished it. I’m a spastic reader and often juggle too many things at once between school and all my self-imposed little side-quests into the ether, but this is one that I’m going to force myself to revisit. Hopefully I can satisfy what I need to.

Absolutely beautiful.

This book was art in words. I'm basically speechless it was so so beautifully written and so poetic (which obviously its poetry). If someone asked me for life advice I would just hand them this book and tell them enjoy.
