Wow! Loved this! Very well written and edited, One is a Promise is a beautiful, suspenseful, sometimes dark, sometimes sweet romance with LOTS of angst and sexy he-man lovin', just enough slow burn, and a heroine who isn't a wimp.

This is one of those books that I read until I couldn't keep my eyes open, and then I read it when I woke up in the middle of the night because I couldn't wait until morning!

Be warned, though, there's a cliffhanger AND this is a trilogy, but we only have to wait about a month between books. And it's so, SO worth it!

I CRAVE books with the angst that this one has but am often (more than often) let down, so I was thrilled to read this, and I can't wait to read more of Ms. Godwin's books. I VERY highly recommend!

I'm going to be honest. After the disaster I had with the last Pam Godwin book I read, I was in no mood to read this one. However, I'd already purchased it, so I hunkered down and decided to give her one more chance.
While this book was infinitely better than the last one that I read (Sea of Ruin, by the way), I still had so many issues with the characters and how they handled their relationships, mainly due to the extremely overused overprotective, testosterone-ridden, jealous male trope that kept appearing (which was a common theme in the Sea of Ruin as well, so I'm assuming it's just an author's preference thing).
Despite this, I really loved the main character and how she wasn't afraid to stand up for what she wants and believes in. I also really really enjoyed Cole's relationship with her but thought that Trance fell flat in many ways, especially as everything begins to be revealed at the end.
All in all, it's a story that wasn't necessarily written for my tastes but that was interesting in and of itself, and I wouldn't want to tear my hair out at the thought of continuing the series, so that's always a good sign.

3.5 stars. This was so frustrating! This was solid for a good 40~% of the book and then things started descending into madness. This wasn't an issue where the writing was bad and the writer is a fumbling mess, I just expected better from Pam Godwin.

The characters were engaging in unnecessary push/pull and their personalities became extremely inconsistent and this is A HUGE pet peeve of mine. I hate it when characters say they'll stand strong on something and then back peddle spectacularly shortly after! This happened so much with the heroine—she makes up her mind to rebuff the hero's advances, and then caves in a second. Her wishy-washiness felt immature and the author could've done better with this.

I did find it believable that
Spoilerthe heroine is plausibly in love with both of the heroes. Sometimes it's obvious that one is "more" loved than the other, and it's not the case here. And I also found both heroes to be equally compelling in different ways
.

Normally, I'd jump right into the next book after that cliffhanger, but the wishy-washiness, the character inconsistency makes me a bit hesitant. I do want to see how this plays out, but I hope the plot and the character development gets tighter.

OH MY GOD!! I am dying here... NEED next book badly!! Can I give this 10 stars???
I could hardly put this down. It is SO DANG GOOD! Putting this one in my top fav reads.
So Danni is a dancer. A beautiful, sexy dancer and a very arrogant, moody guy wants her, needs her but the problem is she is soooo in love with someone else. This is not a love triangle ! Its not a threesome or cheating or anything like that!
I won't say anymore . I hate reading someones review that gives away so much of the story. The ending is , well, so unexpected. Dang I need the 2nd book. I am reeling.....

I've had this book on my kindle for close to two years and I kept putting off reading it. I wish I hadn't done that.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting this angst filled drama fest. That wasn't a bad thing.

There's a quasi love triangle (can't say more because spoilers and such) but just be warned this ends in a cliff hanger in the worst way.

Not going to lie, but I did read this because I just finished Sea of Ruin from Pam Godwin as well and I was itching to read more of her books. This book was overall predictable, light-hearted and fun nonetheless. I did like the storyline and I did enjoy myself reading it but it wasn't amazing or something I haven't read before.

NO IMPORTANT SPOILERS FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE

To tell you just how much I cared about the characters in this book: I somehow just made a game out of this entire "epic" love story which resulted in a match within this review. I feel like I should take bids
