DNF after 3 chapters because ROMANTICIZING ABUSIVE BEHAVIORS IS DANGEROUS. In this book Trace, her future boss, trespass her house at night and behaves inappropriately towards her. I don't know in what bizarro world authors live but TRESPASSING IS A CRIME. Trespassing it's not hot, it's not cute, and it doesn't show that the guy is an alpha/powerful/or what the hell you want to imply! What it does show is that he has no boundaries whatsoever and he is an abusive/toxic boss who didn't even know you but felt he was entitled to get inside your house because the door is unlocked. He talks to her like she is a prostitute and he is buying her body WTF! This is awful, seriously terrible and it killed my mood.

For some reason I find this book really bland.
I empathize with her for her loss but I don’t feel anything epic with the second chance

Ugh, I was all ready to give this 5 stars and then the ended happened. I’m bitter right now. I need to get a good nights rest, so I can attempt to understand why I should change my fake rating to the true one.

Cole.

You “died”. Asshole. I’m annoyed. Showing up like It in the end. You think he’s a figment if your imagination, but nope. Syke.

He’s the past. Danni finally got over him. SHE GOT OVER HIM. And he completely ruined it.

He’s got to be some kind of agent or spy (he earns a few points back for that). I think I might’ve had a fleeting assumption about that in the beginning with all his vague mysterious lines about the job he has as an auditor. Makes sense.

Trace.

Hm, Trace grew on me. He’s infinity. You can’t take back that infinity. But then we had to go and find out the big shocker...COLE AND TRACE WERE/ARE BEST FREAKING FRIENDS! I am frazzled. How does this happen?? Trace is Trace. I still think he’s awesome even after this.

Coherent sentences have left the building.

Oh my, even Cole’s tattoos were a lie. Damn, I think that might be even more surprising than the fact that he was supposed to be dead. Yeah, I’m becoming more bitter. Especially since I have to read the next two books. I mean, I can’t stop now. Ugh. Love-hate relationship with this story.

But anyway, I was not expecting the ending and for that I absolutely adore this book. 6 STARS all the way.

Things better work out (meaning I want Trace and Danni to finish their dance routine for their wedding). I need to prepare myself for the worst possible outcome.

Holy sexual tension!!

Let's start with Danni.
 photo FB9DA16B-BC83-4EA5-857F-136A810141F6_zpsceqglm7t.gif

Danni is a dancer. Her life revolves around it. Dani continues to mourn the loss of her fiancМ©, Cole..still unable to move on 3 years later.
Cole left her to go over seas, promising to return 1 year later for their wedding day. Problem is..he never returned to her, leaving Dani to bury his ashes.

Trace.

Trace is a big mystery. He owns the casino and has a different woman in his bed every night. He buys the restaurant that Danni dances at and he has eyes for only one woman. Danni. The only problem? He won't take it any further.

Can Danni let go of her past to move on? That's the question.
Twists and turns and holy shit batman what an ending!!
I feel like I need to leave it at that to not give anything away.

What the FUCK!?

This was ramping up to be a 5 star read for me and they fucking RUINED IT with that shit in the middle. Fake cheating? Dubious consent angry sex? That’s the first time they have sex and he tells her he loves her?!?
The fuck. I literally skimmed over that sex scene because I felt so fucking gross reading it ugh.
So angry.

And to top it all off, the second he says I love you he turns into a completely different person. WORST thing you could do to a character IMO.

Fucking PISSED!

"I just… Fell madly, sickeningly, desperately in love. Again"

ok so.... ouch. I've been avoiding starting this series for awhile because 1. love triangles aren't really my cup of tea (I'm more a why choose kinda girl, ya know?) and 2. I heard it was pretty painful and I'm a sensitive little marshmallow. But I finally took the plunge, and of course I was not disappointed. I've said this before and I will continue to say it.. Pam Godwin can take all of my least favourite tropes and genres and make me into a believer.

This is the story of Danni, who lost her fiance 3 years prior and is struggling to move on. No man will ever compare to the love she had with Cole Hartman. One day she meets Trace Savoy, a millionaire casino owner who wants her to dance in his new casino. They have an instant attraction and Trace denies her at every turn. Through her push and pull relationship with Trace she is able to start moving on from her past love and looking towards a future with Trace... until.....

thats all I'm gonna say. Read this book if you like beautiful writing, steamy scenes, painful memories and intense passionate love. onto book 2....

“Sensitive guys bore you, and their flattery gets them nowhere. Assholes make your pulse race and your panties wet, especially when they tell you when, where, and how hard.”

I absolutely loved this book and it took me by surprise. I am obsessed with Godwin's dark romances so I was kind of apprehensive going into a lighter romance of hers. Maybe it’s because I didn’t know what to expect?? I’m not sure, but I know now that I never should have doubted her. From chapter one I was hooked and I could not put this book down. It was fast paced, full of angst, scorching hot, and funny as hell. Our main girl Danni is a dancer. She’s quick to give back to others, has no problem saying what she’s thinking or taking what she wants, and she loves with all her heart. I adore her.

As for the guys Trace and Cole? I haven’t formed an opinion yet. That ending has my feelings all jumbled up. I’m just as confused and hurt as Danni, and I know there are so many more secrets to be revealed in the next two books. So I’m not sure whose team I’m on. It’s all up in the air
If you’ve read this series or even just this book, whose team are you on? Team Trace or Team Cole?
