I could listen to Rick read the telephone book, honestly! This was such a fun listen and I was sad when it ended. I wanted to immediately find another Rick Mercer book to listen to. Highly recommend this audiobook for anyone looking for a loving dose of Canadiana and humor.

I used to watch the Rick Mercer Report all the time, so I enjoyed getting to know who Rick Mercer is. It was funny, heartfelt, and at times moving. It was a fascinating look at his life and career, but I feel he glossed over the hard times in his life. He worked hard, but everything seemed to happy too easily. There was no conflict in the book; no hardships. Maybe he was extremely lucky in his life and career, but it would have felt like a more fullsome story if we saw more of a rounded retelling.

Was not what I expected. From the title, I thought it would be stories behind some of the people he interviewed for The Mercer Report. It was still great reading but it was about how he got his start and the road up to The Mercer Report. Sounds like this will be the topic of his next book.

I love Rick Mercer's Talking to Americans, he was great on 22 minutes and The Mercer Report was a staple. So it was really fun to see how he came up with these ideas for shows and also to see his childhood and how he grew up. Who knew him and the host of Canada's worst driver were friends in highschool?
This was a great audiobook! It was so much fun to hear Rick tell his stories. Many laughs!
This was a fun and light read that felt a bit like exploring my own path with Mercer. He came to fame with 22 Minutes as I was coming of age so his musings and experiences with Canadian history and politics resonated well with me. I read this as an audiobook and really enjoyed hearing it in Mercer’s own voice.
