Okay here’s the thing, I went into this with preconceived notions it was going to be scary. I saw so many posts on my online book club group about it being terrifying, keeping people up at night, chilling, etc. I read through this waiting for that moment when all that would click. It never did. So I was disappointed.
With all that said i did like the book. I liked it as a crime thriller, but nothing scary. Even with that, although it’s written well it was predictable— which is not my favorite in a thriller. I want to be surprised. I guessed who the killer was and about the imaginary friend almost immediately. I wanted to be wrong. But alas I wasn’t. Still it’s a good read if you can handle killers that go after young children.

I wish they had kept the creepy vibe it had for the first half. There was one specific chapter that gave me goosebumps, but then they kind of stray away from that. It was still a really good book, with some surprises! I really liked it and would highly recommend it.
