Compelling stuff though the constant flashbacks weaken the overall narrative pull.
The backstories help expand our understanding of these characters but all too often it feels as though smoother ways could have used to bring about the content.
Oftentimes the backstories served a purpose but they could have been at least triggered by a conversation or event.

A rollicking tale, with twists and turns, always wonder if I’m reading comic books properly.

Issues #7 and #8 intrude a whole bunch of characters and even a whole new country setting: Japan.
However, I just kept turning page after page and thinking to myself where the hell it was going and why should I care.

Similar to the second volume, Book 4 is more of a compilation of different story lines, with some overarching throughout. It definitely sets the stage for what should be an intense final volume.

This is the fourth (of five) of the Deluxe edition of Y: The Last Man and it's really good. We continue on our journey's with Yorrick, his sister, all of the agents, the doctors, the gangsters etc. as we try to figure out what happened that killed off all the men and why Yorrick was spared.

There were a lot more POV main characters in this one and a bunch of chapters where we go back in time and then forward in time and then back again - it led to a little confusion that was not there in the first three volumes and that and only that led to my 4 star rating instead of the usual 5.
