Honestly surprised that the love triangle doesn't bother me more than it does. I still think they should just be a throuple, though.

Best one yet

Ugh! The ending!!!!!

I am probably giving too many stars to this book but after the series of not so good books I have read lately, this book was like a breath of fresh air. The characters were more than two dimensional, if a little predictable, the story moved along without having to be told what was happening. And the best part is, I can't wait for the next book.

I needed to read something that I didn't need to invest a lot of brain power into, and this fit the bill. In places the story felt like there were just a bunch of random things going on, but it all manages to come together in the end. But then there's the end end. Quite the rage inducer to end the book on. Glad I don't have to wait to read the next one!

In this book Alex is investigating a string of suicides, trying to find connections and find evidence that it is, in fact, murder. We also find out that Alex is actually a full fledged Fae (and actually Fae nobility). She's finally learning how to use her ability to merge the plane's and pull them further apart.

Falin, her Fae lover, has been ordered by the Winter Queen not to talk to Alex unless it's strictly business - and he must obey. He still tries to show his love for her in small ways but the queen is insanely jealous of Alex and ends up using Falin as blackmail against her. If you join my court you can share him with me. Only problem is, is she telling the truth?

Also on the topic of love, Alex and Death exchange essences, which means he can interact with the mortal plane. He and Alex try to have a relationship of sorts but things get a bit... complicated.

Alex nearly dies in this novel several times, and it ends on such a cliff hanger that lead me to be severely disappointed that I couldn't just download the next book from the Kindle Store. I actually have to wait for it to be written for a change. Falin is moving in on the Queen's orders! What?! I have no idea how Alex will react, how her friend and landlord will react, how anyone will react! She still hasn't chosen a court, but her P.I. business is well on it's way with its own office and everything.

Alex actually gets back in contact with her father and discovers some secrets about her family, which are quite interesting to the reader. He also tries to teach her how to glamour this new 'glow' she has as part of her natural Fae appearance.

There's a lot going on in this novel, and the usual clues dangling from a string. This would have been as good as the last book but, I'm sorry, the ending is too dramatic. I need the next book to be ready and waiting! Else it would have been ok, he, he.

An interesting read and certainly a gripping tale.

Definitely the strongest plot of the three books in this series. I loved finally getting some more info about Death, and a strong new side character. The love triangle is also pretty fleshed out, I appreciate that Alex has true feelings for both people, and both people have strong chemistry with her. They also aren't one-upping each other, which I appreciate. Overall this is definitely my favorite installment, and I look forward to the next.

Spoiler I'm just gonna ignore the extremely cheesy, forced last page of a "cliffhanger" because that was...not cool.

DID NOT FINISH: 51%

The main concept is following an extra planer being that is causing a bunch of people to commit suicide after some pretty jarring use. I was finding it really hard to read about so much suicide, and some lines were just so flippant I found it difficult.

Grave Memory is another great installment to the Alex Craft series! A mystery to solve, trouble around every corner or at least a tv camera, and plenty of mythology and paranormal!

What you love about the Alex Craft series that you still get:

There is another murderer but how do you track deaths that appear to be suicides and what type of creature can cause this?
Alex trying to be a normal witch for hire, only her friend the Shadow Girl, a brownie house cleaner, and her ghost partner make that difficult.
Her father helps but typical, leaves her with more questions than answers.
Falin is around but under control of the Winter Queen, so Alex and Falin have to be creative…
Death is around but being kept away by the raver and Grey Man. But they can’t keep him from saving Alex’s life.

What makes book three stand out:

Alex spends a day in faerie…
Death trades essences with Alex and they share the same plane for a time.
Alex’s friends are more involved in this book and you can see there has to be a choice made soon.
Alex’s magic and abilities as a planeweaver are growing…

So much to love about this book! Bring on book four!!
