3.5x audiobook speed was not fast enough for this book. Both of the prior books my reviews stated how it was constant back and forth fighting and toxicity. The gaslighting...omg 🙄. Nothing has changed in book 3. I  tolerated it for the first two books cause those books still seemed to have a plot but this book was 850 pages of unnecessary. I should have DNF'd this book... I'm DNF'ing the rest of the series at this point.

It felt like this book took me forever to get through! It’s good though, just again, long. Could do with 200 pages less and still result in the same book.

To the haters of this series: I am learning something as I read it. You need to read the whole series before you write it off on one thing from book 1. Because book one sets up the entire toxic relationship. Book 2 shows that they can fight for real and not constantly forgive one another so soon after the blow up. And this one focuses on their life and their growth into new years, and thus their fights are real. That Tessa wants to make a life for herself and Hardin is refusing to follow, yet selfishly demands that she come with him to England. Honestly, this book didn’t do great for making readers like him. He was the full-on cause of almost every fight they had. Between banning her from having a friendship with Zed, even to say good-bye, to refusing to move with her but not tell her why, and then getting mad when she refuses to move with him. I don’t blame her. But all this had to happen. Because slowly… (very slowly) this is showing that he can’t stop and control her life all the time and that life will carry on around him if he isn’t the one to grow up and change.

My favorite was having Lilliana be the gay version of Tessa and be that other character to point out all their problems and his faults and make him back down from thinking that it is Tessa who needs to change.

The Steph thing I did NOT at all see coming. I’ve debated my feelings towards it. It seems random, but was a good drama. But also, maybe, slightly realistic too. If Steph really cared for Tessa she would have done some things differently. So the signs were there.

With the ending, I was less shocked as I saw it coming, but only after they found Hardin’s mom that night before her wedding. I knew it wasn’t random those two characters were chosen.

Onto the next one!

He de decir que este libro ha mejorado respecto a los otros dos.
Le he dado una estrella más porque a ratos Tessa le echaba huevos al asunto. Pero no deja de ser lo mismo todo el rato. Entretiene, al menos.

This is the worst of the series so far for me. Firstly, this book is TOO LONG. Why the hell do we need about 500 pages of back and forth fights, especially if little to no character growth is going to take place. This is my biggest issue. You would think that by book 3 Hardin and Tessa would have sorted their issues out, both as individuals and in their relationship. Where BY NOW they would represent a united front. Unfortunately, the opposite happened. Seriously, three books in and we're still dealing with the same issues that were presented to us in book one. IT'S GETTING OLD!

The first half of the book saw Hardin's character digress into a sad and pathetic shell of who Hardin used to be. His attitude, perception, perspectives, reasoning and the manner in which he handled things became quite pathetic to the point that it was far-fetched and completely out of character. This just made me lose respect for Hardin as a character. Don't get me started on Tessa. She too is just a mess. She doesn't know what she wants, plain and simple. At least Hardin knows who he is, he knows he has flaws and would like to become a better person (very little hope of that happening at this pace).

Never mind the poor editing of this book, the storyline is just beyond ridiculous. The first half of the book is the same boohah as in book two. I can't even remember what happened and honestly, can be skipped over. Then we get halfway and the scene with Tessa's going away party happens and what the freak?! That storyline had no credibility. It was completely leftfield and it just didn't fit. At this point, it becomes clear that the author ran out of ideas and just started adding in soapie-like themes to create the gasp-factor. It was stupid and not plausible in the slightest.

The whole Seattle issue loses its credibility as well because NO REASON is provided as to why Hardin refuses to move to Seattle. I mean he acts like it's a war zone yet NO EXPLANATION is provided. Way to go on the supposed "progress" made in their relationship. This dwindled the suspense that had built up over this obstacle into complete nothingness.

Lastly, the supposed plot twist or cliff hanger at the end of the story - yeah that seed was already planted in book 2 so no shocker there but was it necessary at the specific point of the story? No, but apparently we needed more soap drama. There are just too many trials and tribulations that just seem to happen to Tess and Hardin. It's completely unrealistic making this more of a soapie than a new adult romance.
