I enjoyed the beginning of this book and the end but the middle was extremely slow. I struggled with all the ballet terms in the beginning and was constantly needing to look those words up (not necessary a bad thing, but it does slow down what I think is the faster paced section of the book). I was expecting a lot more horror from this book, it's there without a doubt but there wasn't enough of it. Laure's parents are mentioned several times but there's not enough about what actually happened with them and how she ended up in the position she's in.
All that said... I did really like Laure as a protagonist and I enjoyed her hunger for perfection. The ending implies there will be another book and I would read it without hesitation.
It reminds me a lot of the movie Black Swan (in a good way), so if you enjoyed that movie I'd definitely recommend this book.
