very interesting magic system and very heartwarming :) it was certainly a little confusing at first but i enjoyed how the plot lines connected
I'd probably go 2.5 stars if that were possible, but willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I did not enjoy this book as much as some other of Holmberg's books I've read. Mainly because it is REALLY SLOW over the first 2/3 to 3/4. It could be 50 pages shorter at least and lose nothing. I liked the characters (especially the house), and the ending was satisfying. I might read another in the series.
