Really enjoy Sherman Alexie, live less than an hour away from his old stomping ground. I know people from that area, and the different viewpoints depending on your race.

Nice to see the viewpoint of a person who point of view wasn't considered important before he started writing.

cute and funny
hopeful informative inspiring medium-paced

All adults should read this, although it’s a YA novel

Became uncomfortable after the chapter where he describes Penelope's physique while she plays volleyball. Then I came to learn the author has several sexual harassment allegations and I just couldn't finish in good faith.

This is an excellent memoir giving a perspective that is unfortunately not seen very often.

Soft DNF. I’m still interested but I’m not in the right head space for this one currently.

He revisits some of the themes from his other books, but it works and I could see how it would be appealing to a teenage reader.

While this wasn't my favorite book in the world, I did like the plot and the comics scattered throughout. My favorite part was the drawings, they added a lot to the story. I would recommend this book as it is a quick and good read.
