Beautiful, heartbreaking, and full of hope. I thoroughly enjoyed this book when I read it last Summer.
Sarah makes this explicit: we can’t keep waiting for trans rights because these are human lives. She tells her story, and her loss, and her fight for politics in a very open way that made me cry but also left me with so much hope. Our voices do matter. Change can come. Things can be terrible, but we cannot give up.
This was a truly exceptional book written by an amazing woman. Sarah McBride details her journey in a poignant and emotionally written story that really hits home with all of the challenges that transgender citizens face each day. The main thing that I took from this book is that behind all the politics, and hate speech, and, arguments about rights, are people who are just trying to love, live their lives, and have access to the same basic rights as everyone else. That's what gets lost in all the rhetoric. I highly recommend this book!

I met Sarah a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t wait to read her book. I was not disappointed. Please read this book … it is important! Sarah is a superstar!
