It's rare that I encounter a "perfect" book, but this comes as close to perfect as I've ever read. An interesting world with vengeful ghosts and child ghost-hunting agents, lots of paranormal drama, witty banter, and so much mystery and action. This book is phenomenally written, and the main character Lucy has such a strong inner voice. Lockwood is mysterious and enigmatic, and George is a sarcastic comedy relief. I loved loved loved this! 500/5 stars!

I really liked the narrator's voice. It was to listen to during train rides, doing puzzles, etc. Sadly the next books are not also narrated by the same person.
Story wise it was a solid book. The pairing of one female character with two male characters has been done way too many times in my opinion.

I watched the show a couple years ago and I was really disappointed when it was cancelled 😞 but I finally got around to starting the books and I really enjoyed the first one. Stroud creates such a believable world of ghosts, I appreciate the spookiness without it being horror. excited to read the next one 🙂↕️
