everytime I’ve started a new book from the Vampire Chronicles I’ve always needed some time to totally keep up with the plot and began completely invested in it. this one was…. different. I still needed time but by far it was one of the funniest, most entertaining of the Chronicles. I think I’ll put it as my second favorite after the Interview. Everything happens here was so unpredictable (as like the others) but in such a ways I would never even consider

My 2nd in terms of enjoyment in this series.  I'm glad Lestat stopped lyinng to himself and to his readers, he's a piece of shit, he's always been a piece of shit and it was high time he accepted it.  Also Claudia I love you, glad you were back if only as a ghost?  You were always the heart of this series and your abscense was very noticed, wish you could have haunted Louis.

4 stars. What a crazy ride this was. Soft emo vamp boy Lestat switches bodies with a human and then said human does not want to give him his body back. Shenanigans ensue. It was a lot of fun and so bizarre. I loved how Lestat was stuck as a human and was freaking the hell out because he missed his body and immortality. He had fun being mortal for like a day and then was over it and that tickled me. Though David (while body swapped with Lestat)

and I was so pissed. The scene is really intense and left me shocked.

There was a lot of interesting conversations about religion and God which I enjoyed. Religion has been brought up in the previous books but there was a lot of it in this one and there were a lot of quotes that I loved. The entire conversation on God between Lestat and Claudia was so incredibly well done.

The ending was great and everything wrapped up really well. Though this was such a strange installment to the series, I still really enjoyed it. I know the next book follows the actual Devil so I guess this book wasn’t too weird.

Mostly filler. I do think this situation had to happen for the good of Lestat's overall character development though. Appalled at how it went down with David.

Moving on…
