DNF at 54% (page 260). I give up! I love Sophie Kinsella, but 473 pages is just too much for one shopaholic story. It has taken me 20 days just to get this far and I keep putting it aside to read something else. I never thought I’d say it, but “Becky, you’re boring me.”

It was exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted it to be. Not gonna win any awards and I wouldn't want SK to see me reading it, but what can I say, I'm a sucker for Becky Brandon nee' Bloomwood.

When you get this book, you know what you are in for. It's a quick read, a nice break from the Game of Thrones era books I usually read. They have a charming humor to them, and they always leave me in a good mood. If you want a summer read that gives you a few laughs, then go for this book.

I'll read the next one simply because of the cliffhanger ending. Becky's character was over the top and annoying in this book.

This is book 7 in the Shopaholic Series

I started my “chick lit” reading journey with the shopaholic series; namely, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Since then I have absolutely adored the series. With every book Becky is discovering something new about her life but keeping other things (like shopping) the same. Becky is one of the funniest characters I have ever met. She is adorable, charming, naïve, and plain silly. In Shopaholic to the Stars Becky is back to her usual antics. Shopping is (as always) her number one priority though even if she doesn’t think so. Luke is as charming as ever and his love for Becky oozes out of the pages. Minnie; Becky’s Daughter, is delightful as ever and adds some more humor to the book. Overall, this series is great and I always look forward to another book coming out.

In this book, there seems to be a lot more drama than previous books. It is not as light and flowy as the others. It will be interesting to see how Becky goes about finding her father while also trying to keep the peace between her arch nemeses Alicia. Will Becky’s character ever grow? We’ll have to wait and find out!

I feel similar to a lot of other readers. As a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella, I can't be too harsh but goodness, this book - even in audible - was somewhat funny but mostly annoying and embarrassingly ridiculous. I was going for something light and silly, yes, but this took it to a whole new level. I really think her latest books are her best works. I think I read Shopaholic 1 and/or 2, I honestly can't remember, but leaving it on a cliff-hanger was really the ultimate slap in the face to the reader. And I think she was taking it a little far with how fake stars can be. Hollywood and high integrity characters may not be in the same sentence often, but really, this was a little much. I'm hopefully redeeming myself and some of my intellect by going to a smart non-fiction next. Sorry, Sophie, but this book wasn't that good at all.

It was just ok. Another 500 page chic lit book (same author, The Wedding Night) and it is to be continued! Sorry, these goofy books should be able to wrap it up in 300 pages. Not only does it drag on and get boring, it was not funny like the others in the series. It took me 9 days to read this. Usually I devour these in a day. It says a lot when you CAN put a book down.

I was really disappointed in this book! I am a huge Sophie Kinsella fan and have read all of her books. I've actually read most of the books in the Shopaholic series multiple times because I love them so much. But this one was not up to par with the rest of the books in the series. I can't even quite put my finger on why I didn't love it as much. Becky just wasn't as lovable as she usually is and the ending was a big cliff hanger which is not how any of the other Shopaholics books have ended.
