I seriously cannot get enough of Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood! I love her. She always manages to get herself in some of the most awkward situations and it cracks me up. And the way her brain works to reason things away.....sometimes I can really relate to that. Only, in this book, there were a few times where I thought, "Really Becky? C'mon." But, that's part of the charm that is Becky. Knowing this book is a two-parter, I was worried that things wouldn't get set right with Luke and Suze before the end. Whew! At least that was taken care of.
I'm anxious to read the next book to find out where Tarkie, Becky's dad, and this Bryce character have gone off to. I think a lot of fun Becky adventures are awaiting in Las Vegas. And I absolutely LOVE how Becky finally stood up to Alicia at the end of the book. Though, I am starting to wonder, has Alicia changed her ways? I do find it odd that she married a man many years older than her....seems like gold-digger behavior. I can't wait to see how that turns out as well.
I'm a really big I Love Lucy fan and as I was watching the Christmas special last night, I realized that Becky reminds me of Lucy, which is another reason I love Becky's character so much.

Good - the series just hasn't been as good as it was in the beginning (before Mini Shopaholic). The cliffhanger end will have me reading the next one when it comes out.
O carte foarte placuta si usoara, amuzanta si plina de aventura. scrisa din perspectiva Rebbecai, este captivanta si plina de “incandescenta”. Ideala pentru o vacanta la mare!
I've always liked Sophie Kinsella's stand-alone books (like "Remember Me?" and "Can You Keep a Secret?") better than her Shopaholic series, and this was my least favorite of the Shopaholic series so far. Becky seems to have lost any character growth she gained in the previous books and I found myself actively disliking her at many points in the book, which has never happened in the earlier Shopaholic books. Her self-centered attitude and her thoughtlessness in this book got really old, really fast. The other main problem I had with this entry to the series was the ending. Since when do the Shopaholic books end with so many major loose ends left undone? There are literally characters who were MISSING at the end of the book who still haven't been found. There's a mystery surrounding Becky's father's past that was introduced and then left to die, or wait until the next book comes along. The little note at the end to wait around for the next book was annoying. With other series and authors, I expect and even anticipate excitedly the cliffhangers that will come. I certainly never expected that with the Shopaholic series and am aggravated that I now have to wait 1-2 years to find out what happens, especially when the parts left hanging were the most intriguing/interesting parts of the story since they have little to do with Becky herself. Seems like a marketing ploy to me. What a shame.
I can't believe it ended in a cliff hanger. >.< I don't think any of her books ended in a cliff hanger before. I want the next book. Although Becky really annoyed me when she and Luke had their confrontation. I hurt for Luke and sad for him when he was being so sweet.
Well the next one, we are heading to Las Vegas. I wonder when it will come out.

yet again a great time and YET AGAIN there are things becky did wrong for sure where i totally cringed through them but i don't think she was at fault just bc tarkie happened to meet that cult-y guy through her, nor is she really at fault for her dad, like she could've pushed him for answers more but every time she tried to get anything out of him he was incredibly vague lol like how is that on her
ANYWAY v interested in how usually the end of the book tells you where the next book will take us but still pretty well wrapped up and this one is a bit of a cliffhanger, wondering what the deal is with graham and everything, so i'm excited to get to the next one, and i can't believe i'm almost done with the series! would be happy if she writes more after book 9
