It's an thorough account of BTS' history, struggles and success. I really liked the QR codes to situate myself in a specific era.
How could I give this anything less than 5 stars???
Every once and awhile I'm reminded of how much of a light BTS has been, and this book is no exception. It was fascinating reading about their history from pre-debut to now. I was particularly taken with the sections on Love Yourself: Tear, MOTS:7, and the Permission to Dance concerts. Every chapter left me marveling at all they've accomplished and the hurdles they overcame to get there. BTS remain role models in every sense of the phrase and their outlook on the world is inspiring, yet humbling at the same time.
Admittedly, this book is really written for those who are already familiar with BTS and anyone who isn't may find this difficult to read. I would have liked to read more about the BTS cinematic universe and how they incorporated various external influences into their themes (Demain, Jung, etc.), but in all this was a great timeline any ARMY could ask for.

I received a beautiful copy of this from Flatiron Books a few weeks ago and had a chance to spend some time with it over the holiday weekend. Just to be upfront, I’m not a rabid fan, so I went into this as a complete blank slate and I was impressed by this volume. First of all, it is gorgeously printed, high quality with stunning photos of BTS of course. What I really loved were all the QR codes included to take you right to the media being discussed on the page. It allowed someone like me to really see their journey to the mega group that they are today. And what a journey. These young men worked their tails off to achieve what they have and I am blown away by both the talent on display and commitment to achieving their dreams. This is the perfect gift for the BTS fan in your life or for someone who enjoys reading about the music industry in general. Thank you again to Flatiron for my copy of this book.

If you are not a Kpop fan, just keep scrolling. lol
I wanted to love this. I really loved the docuseries on Disney+ by the same name. And when I researched the differences, the internet said that the audiobook was more in depth.
It was wonderful hearing about the members and their stories. The interviews with the members are translated into English and they used different voices for each of the members so it was not difficult to keep straight who was talking. However, the English translations of some song lyrics were very strange (sometimes the lyrics just don't translate very well).
Overall, I thought this was very lackluster and found my mind wandering off.

This book made me feel all the emotions!
I loved seeing the journey BTS has gone through, from their early training days to their rise up to the Grammy stage. Seeing all their albums, the behind-the-scenes, and the ideas that made them all up was beautiful. It was like a glimpse into their minds. Seeing the quotes from all members made it feel authentic and added depth. What I felt the most compelling was seeing the balance of fame and idolization with the darker side: loneliness, depression, exhaustion, and pain. Their loss of privacy and alienation at points provided fans with another point of view. Their gratitude to their fans was apparent at several points in the book while still showing the personal toll it takes on them.

One thing I wish could have been touched more upon was their concepts. I would have loved to see the connections between their music and performances and their inspiration. Overall this book just solidified my love for BTS and the reasoning behind being an ARMY.
