While I do still catch myself wondering how feminist the writer is, I am enjoying hearing Natasha’s thoughts and going through her missions with her. I would definitely recommend this to any Avengers movie fan, like myself. I don’t read comic books much but I am happy to have picked this one as the series for me.

This series reminded me of Matt Fraction's "Hawkeye" in that Edmondson is portraying what the Black Widow does in her time off from the Avengers, but it lacks the humor and humanity in "Hawkeye". The dialogue is a little stiff, and the characterization was mediocre (no amount of panels will get me to believe that the Black Widow would not charge the best possible price for a job). It would also be refreshing to see Natasha interact more with people she's not trying to kill. She may be extremely distrustful of people and adept at deception, but that's exactly what would make "normal" conversations so interesting.

Pretty art, but meandering episodes of a story that doesn't add up to a whole; and is open ended.

Aww, I expected this to be better. I should probably read another issue, but it was just... so boring :/

this is a side we never had seen from black widow. she's still kicking ass, but she's sharing with us her daily struggles to feel good about herself, to forgive herself to say the least. this is her atoinemnt

Phil Noto's extraordinary talent as an illustrator is, sadly, the only redeeming quality of this issue. The story was bland and generic, with barely a hint of humor.
