The prose is beautiful while dealing with some truly abysmally ugly subject matter. Unfortunately I spent the whole novel distracted by McCarthy's signature lack of quotation marks, which always leaves me annoyed to the point of resenting the book for that while reading it, making for a bad reading experience of otherwise masterful writing.

Vestido de suas carnes, fazendo amor com suas carcaças, Ballard se mostra um protagonista que encontrou em seu subterfúgio algo que jamais encontraria em meio a seus conterrâneos.

Linda escrita a de Mccarthy aqui, melhor que em The Road ao menos
