I felt like this was an interesting read from the lens of the book being a product of its time. While this may not be the view of the author himself, it is interesting that a lot of academics of the mid 20th century held that superpowers like telekinesis or the like was a plausible and almost inevitable latent human ability. I'm satisfied at having read it, but wouldn't qualify it as a must read.

Loved it, though I didn't really fuck with the antisemitism that was randomly sprinkled throughout the book along with the blatant racist xenophobic rhetoric, it didn't serve the plot and pulled me out of the book. Other than these few complaints and how hard it was to keep track of whose pov we were in, I liked it an awful lot and would definitely recommend it and give it a re-read.

Could have been shorter. Could have been less rascist and antisemitic.

Maybe Stephen King just isn't for me. This my 2nd book from him and at least Misery picked up. This book was just awful to me. I didn't like the way it was written. The characters were pretty dense. I don't think the storyline was well told. It just seemed pretty surface level. And just not what I expected it to be. And the subtle racism and fat phobic (maybe it was written like that because of the time period) I found unnecessary.
