One of the strangest books ive ever read. Im still not even quite sure what i read. I actually found the characters really interesting and loved all their nuanced, unique characteristics. I enjoyed how the book was written and the language through it. HOWEVER, what even was that? Like fr most of the time i was like.... what...? Like its a bunny-killing cult? I think. But for what? And i still feel there are missing pieces to the plot. Or details that were supposed to feed into the confused, alienating, drugged sensation that Samantha was feeling but for me it wasnt the one.
Mainly i think its not my genre.

my god.. it took 2 weeks to get through this and i was putting it off reading downton abbey fanfic. this was just giving “im not like the other girls” energy from everyone the only character i liked was jonah and he was there for what maybe 10 pages. this book was finished out of pure spite and now i know there is a sequel i need to read that to see if maybe it’s better and because i hate myself

this is a beautiful twisted bizarre book that spoke to me about loneliness, codependency, and how fucked up grad school is. frankenstein wrapped up in a pink bow. the book was up and down for me, I felt like the middle got lost and muddled for me and I wish there was more time spent on the bunny era (I think there was something to be said about desire and creation there that just fell flat and could have used more time) but the ending really pulled it together. the final revelation about Ava was devastating and now I want to go call my best friend
